Speak up

Want to call your member of Congress about the Obstruction of Justice League? Here is a list of all the members of Congress and their phone numbers, and below are some sample scripts to get you started.

If your representative is a member of the Obstruction of Justice League

Staffer: Representative’s office, how may I help you?
You: My name is [NAME], and I live in [CITY, ZIP], and I’d like to leave a message.
Staffer: Go right ahead.
You: Please let the Congressman know that I strongly disapprove of his efforts to undermine the FBI and the Mueller investigation. The Congressman’s job is to exercise oversight, not interfere with the work of federal agencies.
Staffer: The Congressman is providing oversight, and the FBI has engaged in some pretty questionable practices recently.
You: That’s just not true. FBI agents have been shown time and again to be consummate professionals. The Congressman is peddling conspiracy theories, and ignoring the real, ongoing threat of foreign countries interfering in our elections. I will remember this come Election Day.
Staffer: I will pass along the message.
You: Thank you.

If your representative is a member of the GOP, but not part of the Obstruction of Justice League

Staffer: Representative’s office, how may I help you?
You: My name is [NAME], and I live in [CITY, ZIP], and I’d like to leave a message.
Staffer: Go right ahead.
You: Please let the Congressman know that I am deeply concerned about the actions of other Republicans working to undermine the FBI and the Mueller investigation. They are pushing the country to the brink of a constitutional crisis over a set of conspiracy theories. Will the Congressman stand up against these representatives and let the FBI do its work?
Staffer: I don’t know if the Congressman has spoken up, but he is concerned about some of the stories coming out about some people at the FBI.
You: FBI agents have been shown time and again to be consummate professionals. The Congressman should stand firm for the rule of law and protect our country from foreign interference in our elections. And [he/she] should stand against [his/her] colleagues who don’t do this.
Staffer: I will pass along the message.
You: Thank you.

If your representative is a Democrat

Staffer: Representative’s office, how may I help you?
You: My name is [NAME], and I live in [CITY, ZIP], and I’d like to leave a message.
Staffer: Go right ahead.
You: I am deeply concerned about the GOP’s efforts to undermine the FBI and delegitimize the Mueller investigation. I know the Representative supports the agency and the investigation, but I need to hear more from [him/her]. Will [he/she] be more vocal about the nearly daily efforts by the GOP to push us into a constitutional crisis?
Staffer: The Congressman is deeply troubled by what is going on with the FBI and is keeping a close eye on it.
You: That doesn’t seem to be enough. We need to be loud about our support for the agency and the Mueller investigation before the GOP causes long-term damage.
Staffer: I will pass along the message.
You: Thank you.
